Sketchbook to Shirt: Shamrock Shield Design
This piece is one of the newest designs in my St. Patrick’s Day exploration, and it’s one I’m especially excited about. What started as a few loose clover sketches slowly evolved into something more structured — a shield-like emblem built around the iconic shamrock. The result feels bold, ornamental, and a little mythical at the same time.
I really enjoyed pushing the greens and layered textures in this design. The central shamrock became the focal point, while the surrounding shapes and decorative elements helped frame it like a crest or symbol. It ended up feeling almost like a heraldic emblem — something timeless but still playful enough to fit the St. Patrick’s Day spirit.
This design will likely be one of the next shirts going up on the site, and I’m really happy with how it turned out. It’s always rewarding when an idea that starts as a sketch grows into something polished enough to share as a finished piece.
As always, this is just another step along my journey. I’ll keep sharing new sketches, experiments, and finished designs as I move through 2026. No matter what’s happening in the world, I’m grateful to be able to create, keep learning, and share what I make along the way.
